Living Lockdown 1: March - July 2020
My early morning runs at the start of lockdown were a window into my neighbourhood coming to terms with a new way of living in very visual ways. Garden walls from Hanwell to Perivale became places to display belongings now in need of new homes. Hand written notices on shop windows across Greenford and Northfields, heartfelt and moving, bore silent testimony to the stress of their owners. The pavements of Dormers Wells, Pitshanger and Acton became a hopscotch of chalk figures and social distance circles. Places of gathering, of faith or food, from Southall to Ealing were now centres of risk only to be approached alone or by app.
